Memory 11
Positive Trivial: the happy couple of Yakushi Village
won Day 57
Form: a skull ring [remaining: 3/4]
No video reference because I couldn't find one that didn't have talking over it because this is technically an optional sidequest. I do have a full transcript though. (...Well, there is a video here, with relevant bits from 5:09 to 6:30 and then 11:45-16:14, if you'd really like to see. But still.)
Summary
This memory covers several visits to Yakushi Village, centering around a retired fisherman and a woman from the forest who Chibi had previously invited to come to the developing Yakushi Village because they were unsatisfied with their old lives.
The First Visit:
Kurow and Chibi deliver the letter.
Kurow and Chibi leave the village to do stuff, then come back after some time has passed.
The Second Visit:
They leave to do more stuff, and more time passes.
When they next visit the village, the Mayor makes an announcement when they enter:
Following his instructions, they go to the cave behind the waterfall at the back of the village and watch the ceremony. It's the village's first marriage ever, so it's some pretty exciting stuff.
Kurow and Chibi leave once more, and more time passes.
The next time they visit, the Mayor has another announcement:
There is now a house built on the side of the cliff surrounding Yakushi Village, with flowers that Chibi can vine up to. There's a crack in the wall next to it, which Chibi can make a bomb to open and go obtain a Gold Pot. And they can visit the happy couple, too.
What He Learns
☽ He's been to a wedding!
☽ Chibi can make cherry bombs.
☽ the geography of Yakushi Village, and that it's a town that's just starting out but flourishing thanks to Chibi's help.
Notes
This is pretty much a feel good about humanity memory. Technically it's an optional sidequest (and theoretically it could be done with Kagu or possibly even Manpuku instead, haven't tried the latter), but it's nice. Plus he knows what weddings are now.
Also, I love Yakushi Village's music. It's a pretty town. It's a little sad that it's completely irrelevant to Kurow as a character, but oh well.

Summary
This memory covers several visits to Yakushi Village, centering around a retired fisherman and a woman from the forest who Chibi had previously invited to come to the developing Yakushi Village because they were unsatisfied with their old lives.
The First Visit:
Retired Fisher: "I've been keeping my eye on that Naguri chap. I like his work ethic. He doesn't shy away from a manly man's work. Hmm... Alright, my mind's made up! I'm goin' to start my life over as a carpenter!"
Kurow: "A carpenter gig sounds pretty rad, dude. I say go for it!"
Fisher: I got a fresh start at life... and it's because of your dog! Thank you!"
Forest Woman: "I moved to this town so I could find my soul mate. Well, guess what? I found him! See? He's right over there. He's just so wonderful. I felt my heart go pitter-patter when I first saw him. I guess that's how you know it's love. Listen, I have a favor to ask. I wrote him a letter telling him how I feel. Could you give it to him for me?"
Kurow: "Of course! Anything for love! Dude, don't lose this, okay?"
*Letter obtained! A love letter written by a girl in love.*
Forest Woman: "Please make sure to get that letter to him. I really appreciate it."
Kurow: "Leave it to us!"
Kurow and Chibi deliver the letter.
Retired Fisher: "Crikey, it's you guys! What's that you got there, eh?"
Kurow: "Go ahead, hand it over."
Retired Fisher: "For me? Thanks, mate."
*Handed over letter.*
Retired Fisher: "Crikey, it's you guys! I read that letter. I can't believe someone likes a guy like me. It's a little terrifying. But I'll go and say hello to her in a little while."
Kurow: "Just keep your cool and you'll do fine!"
Forest Woman: "He got the letter already!? Thank you so much! I wonder if he'll feel the same way as I do... Phew... Being in love can be stressful."
Kurow: "Girl, you need to relax. Everything will be fine!"
Kurow and Chibi leave the village to do stuff, then come back after some time has passed.
The Second Visit:
Forest Woman: "He asked me out! Now we're officially a couple! Isn't love wonderful!? And it's all thanks to you for delivering the letter!"
Kurow: "You did good, boy!"
Retired Fisher: "Crikey, it's you guys! Did ya hear that I went shopping with that girl? It turns out that we like the same kinds of things!"
Kurow: "Good job, dude!"
Retired Fisher: "So... I asked her to go out with me, and she said yes! She loves the Ryoshima Coast Guardian Sapling. So we are going to go see it together!"
Kurow: "Man, this guy's got it bad for that lady. I hope I'm not this bad when I'm going on about a chick. Anyway, I'm glad his new life's working out for him."
They leave to do more stuff, and more time passes.
When they next visit the village, the Mayor makes an announcement when they enter:
Old Man (Mayor): "What a wonderful day! A couple who met in this town is getting married! They're holding the ceremony on a hill behind the waterfall. You should go and wish them your best."
Following his instructions, they go to the cave behind the waterfall at the back of the village and watch the ceremony. It's the village's first marriage ever, so it's some pretty exciting stuff.
Pupil: "Yo, dawg. Some couple just got themselves hitched. It was awesome!"
Kurow: "Yeah, never seen a wedding myself."
Pupil: "I kinda wanna get myself a little lady and settle down."
Naguri: "You gotta hear this. It's a great story. A couple that met in this town said they're gonna get married. It's destiny, I tell ya! I hope they're happy together."
Kurow: "Yeah, me too, dude."
Retired Fisher: "Crikey, it's you, guys! Guess what... I'm getting married to that girl! Brilliant, isn't it? Today is the ceremony, so I'm just elated! Thank you so much for all you've done for us!"
Kurow: "Awesome, man!"
Forest Woman: "Today is my wedding day! This is the happiest day of my life."
Kurow: "Congratulations! You two are great together, dude!"
Kurow and Chibi leave once more, and more time passes.
The next time they visit, the Mayor has another announcement:
Old Man (Mayor): "There's a married couple that got married after meeting each other here. Since they need time together, we made sure they won't be bothered. Their house is a little out of the way though. If I were you, I wouldn't go and interrupt their honeymoon."
There is now a house built on the side of the cliff surrounding Yakushi Village, with flowers that Chibi can vine up to. There's a crack in the wall next to it, which Chibi can make a bomb to open and go obtain a Gold Pot. And they can visit the happy couple, too.
Forest Woman: "My husband built this house with his own two hands! Isn't it marvelous!?"
Kurow: "It's totally rad, man! I'm super happy for you."
Retired Fisher: "Crikey, it's you, guys! Somehow, I built this house all by myself! And now I'm training under Naguri. The missus and I are so happy."
Kurow: "Congratulations!"
