Memory 22
Positive Neutral: fixing Sugawara's shrine
Won Day 94
Form: a box of crayons [remaining: 5/6]
[Partial video reference: 21:55 to the end]
Summary
This memory begins just after Sugawara's spirit departs for the afterlife (Memory 18). As Kurow watches him leave, he comments that he's pretty sure his mystery mission was to stop Sugawara, since he's one of his people, and therefore, he must have done everything he was sent to do. (Ah, irony.)
That train of thought is interrupted by Kagu, now awake, who comes over with Scholar. She assures them that they're fine, and then thanks Kurow for what he did. Kurow, however, is troubled, because while Sugawara did some bad things, but he was hurt just as much. He decides that the least he can do is go fix up his grave, and Scholar decides to help him in that endeavor. So the two of them leave to do that, suggesting that Chibi and Kagu check up on the town.
The rest of this memory is essentially a headcanon overview of Kurow and Scholar rebuilding the shrine. Just to put things in perspective, this is what it looked like before:

This is what it looks like after Kurow and Scholar rebuild it and clean it up and make it all pretty and neat and stuff:

This is done in just over a day, while Chibi and Kagu are off retrieving and delivering medicine (and finishing up Ayame's subplot). They finish things off with a prayer, and Kurow plays a short tune on his flute to accompany Sugawara to the next world.

What He Learns
☽ ...ha ha ha he thought his mission was over ha ha ha how cute
☽ Scholar is still awesome <3
☽ basic notes on funeral customs and the like, both Nippon-ese and Moon Tribe-ian
☽ basic building notes, especially how to build a proper shrine
Notes
